Job Overview-Virtual/Remote/Live online through Zoom • Position: After School Tutor (Math/Science) • Pay: $13.50/hr-with pay increases starting after 100 hours of teaching as a Sylvan teacher. • Hours: • Tuedsay/Wednesday/Thursday: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. • Flexible hours: You can work shifts that fit your busy schedule, making it a great option for anyone seeking part-time work or looking to supplement their income. • No Lesson Planning or Parent Conferences: Sylvan handles the administrative side (lesson planning, scheduling, parent conferences), so you can focus entirely on teaching and inspiring students. • Free Sylvan Sessions for Dependent Children: After six months of employment, you'll be eligible for free tutoring sessions for your own children. Key Responsibilities • Tutoring in Math and Science: You'll help students with their Math and Science studies, providing small group instruction. (Ex. Algebra 2,PreCalc, Calc, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, etc) • Rapport Building: Establish a positive relationship with students by being approachable, friendly, and engaging. • Create a Fun and Supportive Environment: Your role is to make learning enjoyable and boost students' confidence, helping them overcome challenges. • Inspire Lifelong Learning: Use Sylvan's proven approach to instill a passion for learning and academic success. • Encourage Independence: As a tutor, you'll help students work through homework and test and quiz preparation, building both their academic skills and self-confidence.
